There is SO much I want to share with you all. This past week has been filled with ups&downs, strength and love, and above all, personal growth, and learning to fly!
I cannot even put into words the experiences and blessings I have been given this past week. I want to thank my Father in Heaven and my Savior, first off, for all the blessings they have put in my pathway. I am so grateful, and SO blessed to be where I am right now, in my life! Through much trial and tribulation, has brought strength, love, love for myself, and the blessing of helping others.
This past Saturday I was able to Spend the day with Jessie Clark Funk. (She is a LDS singer and a motivational speaker.) I love her to death! She is so sweet and loving, and SO much fun to be around!! She is someone I look up to and aspire to be like someday. And thanks to her, she was able to make one of my dreams come true, and help me grow as well.
I was able to speak to a group of young women on personal power, and taking control of your life. That you CAN do anything you put your mind to, and you are loved and worth all the happiness in the world. My goal, if anything, was at the end of my talk, for these girls to be able to walk out of that room with their head held high, knowing who they are and that no matter what they have been through, what decisions they have made, they can choose to become the master of their life!
I was able to share my story with these girls. (This was a major step forward for me.) I was able to tell them about my years of abuse, how I've coped with it in the past, and how i am choosing to grow from it now! I shared with them, my steps to forgiveness, not only to those who have hurt me, but for myself as well. I was able to show these young women, the Woman I have become! How everyday I have the choice to become A survivor. It is a daily decision everyday, and some days, I still decide to be the victim. But all that does, is make me miserable, and those around me as well.
I have the choice, YOU have the choice everyday, to become the strong, empowered daughter of God that you are! This lifetime is full of challenges and trials, but it's also full of laughter, love, and hope.
This experience was probably the best day of my life! Not only was it growth for me, but I was able to make a difference in these young women's lives. I could not ask for a greater gift! What a sense of empowerment and fulfillment I had that day! Life is a gift! Treasure it. Take the trials and hardships that you have been through, and go make a difference in the World! Just knowing that i effected these girls in the 15 minutes i had to speak to them, is so worth it! Life isn't about the money we make, the things we have, how good we look, it's not material. Life is about learning and growing from our mistakes, taking our experiences, weather they be good or bad, and making a difference, helping others. Have fun! Laugh, love who you are, and always remember, you have the power, to take control of your life!
I'm very excited to announce, that is is just the beginning! I will be helping Jessie again in future with other wokshops, and I will also be helping out and possibly speaking again at another Workshop in March.
It is amazing the blessings that come your way when you are doing what you know is right! Thanks for supporting me and walking with me throughout this Journey thus far!
